All that complaining about the heat? It’s now officially Fall, my favorite season, and the scarves and sweaters are coming out.
Speaking of, a bunch of us walked to Linda’s for brunch the other day and passed the Sweater Tree, everyone marveling and the kids trying to climb it. Nice job, neighborhood knitters.
This is going to be another short entry – I spent HOURS this morning working out kinks in HTML for the Cruzin’ Courses site, and I’m officially over it. I know there are better tools out there, and flash is super flashy, but I have enough other things pressing right now that learning a new computer program/language is NOT a priority. Now I have to go make race car parts in sugar. And some seashells. And some monkeys and tigers.
One recent bride and groom really wanted to have dragons and tigers symbolized on their cake, but the bride’s mom was opposed to the idea. So they asked me to come up with a subtle design, that might not even be recognizable immediately, but that would capture the asian-styled dragon and tiger that they were looking for.
So this is what I came up with. Almost a toile pattern if you’re not really paying attention. It worked perfectly in the room, where every detail was laid out with thought and care. They had so many friends and family members helping create their special day – it was an occasion honestly full-to-bursting with love and happiness for the two of them, and I felt really honored to have been selected to be a part of it.
