Cake Tuesday: cupcakes.
Cupcakes have been a growing trend for years, and not just for weddings. Cupcake boutiques have cropped up all over the country, like Sprinkles in LA, and Sibby's, near San Francisco. Magnolia Bakery in New York claims to have kicked off the trend a decade ago, and while some say it's a passing fad (make way for the macarons!), they're still very cute and popular.
One wedding that I recently did had half cupcakes, half individual cakes, both with piped flowers:

Then I did cupcakes as part of a whole candy bar, which is a playful idea I just love and something that Martha Stewart repeatedly features. (And I was REALLY good and resisted swiping one of the Goetze's caramel bulls eyes, my total favorite.)

Three different flavors, all different frostings - these girls did a terrific job of giving their guests lots of fun sweet choices.
