Happy New Year.
The holidays were a blur of Terrible Cold and Site Hosting Move Nightmare. But both seem to be resolving themselves nicely. If you do notice problems with the site, please let me know - I believe things should be (nearly) in order at this point.
I've been caffeine-free for a couple of days because it just didn't sound good with my stuffy head, but my neighbor Bob convinced me to walk to our local coffee house this morning under the premise that coffee's as good as Sudafed for opening sinuses. And it's organic coffee, and they (usually) have delicious pumpkin chocolate chip cookies there. I (usually) get two, to go with my coffee. Breakfast of champions. So today we happened to run into Bob's friend Joel, who is a well-known potter and an all-around interesting character. And we got to meet Joel's friend Noah, who is an incredible (and incredibly down-to-earth) artist. We sat around talking about Joel's Beat Generation connections, and Noah's current church commission in Wisconsin, and it felt very Parisian and wonderful. Santa Cruz has some definite drawbacks but little moments like this are one of the things that make it such a treasure.
