organic is as organic does.
I love meeting with new clients. For some reason, what we do - our focus on organic, our
commitment to local ingredients - attracts really wonderful people. Wedding planning can be
quite stressful (try doing it from the opposite coast!), but nine times out of ten our clients are
joyful and peaceful - simply, visibly, happy with each other. (And of course it's always so nice
to hear them rave about the cake samples!)
We're going to New York for Thanksgiving. It's become an annual tradition - my stepbrother
lives there, my stepmother really isn't into cooking that much anymore (although she is the
most amazing cook and hostess imaginable), so it's a great excuse to go to the city and enjoy
the cold weather, the Christmas lights going up, maybe catch a show. Last year we were able
to see Cynthia Nixon in her Tony-award-winning performance in Rabbit Hole - second row, center.
She was so, so great - I can't imagine how exhausting it is to sob, gut-wrenchingly,
with
your
whole heart, 77 times in a row.
This year, I don't know - I think the stage hand strike is still on, so we may
be out of luck.
But there isn't any restaurant strike (that I know of), and travel
for me is food-centric anyway,
so I've been making fun reservations all over
town.
