home again.

I know it's a cliche, but I do love New York.

The music is so great - and free! We enjoyed So Percussion's energy and creativity over cocktails at the Winter Garden one evening, and this vocal quartet gave a breathtaking lunchtime performance at St. Bart's. And all the subway buskers were so talented (although I have to say when you're waiting a really long time for a train and it's just one guy and his accordian, you might be reminded of a popular Santa Cruz bumper sticker). We especially loved the Blue Vipers of Brooklyn - go buy their cd right now.

My brother Dan lives in Brooklyn and works at the Museum of Natural History - he gave us a tour of his new show:

He was a lead designer on the show (although he would like you to know that he had nothing to do with the world in a life preserver - a completely different group handles promotions). His group came up with much cooler stuff, like the sloshed water graphic and this highly entertaining fog curtain:

The whole show was beautifully done, and it's neat to get a behind-the-scenes look at how it was all put together.

We ate well, and way too much - the holidays are officially beginning.

We just got home Tuesday night, late, and yesterday was spent preparing for a fundraiser I hosted last night. Twenty lovely women came to support this group - the recipient for November's contributions. If you'd like to participate, please check for a local chapter in your area (and if it doesn't exist, consider starting one).

Now I've got to get caught up with my clients and vendors, schedule December's baking, send out new contracts, and sift through a week's worth of junk mail...
